Fanrank Facebook App Installed on Pages with 53M Fans Just 2 Months into Beta Launch

App rewards fans for spreading the word about the things they love

Fanrank, a new Facebook application that rewards fans for spreading the word about the things they love, announced today that just two months after beta launch it has been installed on more than 1,250 Facebook Fanpages with more than 53 Million total fans. Music artist Fanpages that have installed Fanrank include Benny Benassi, blink- 182, who are using it to promote their 2011 Honda Civic Tour dates, Cascada, Keith Richards, The Kinks, Nirvana and Tiësto.

Facebook users discover Fanrank on a tab of a Fanpage. Once installed, the application provides rewards to fans for social sharing on Facebook and Twitter, music listening tracked via Last FM and other activity. Fanrank plans a significantly expanded rewards program and improved analytics tools for Fanpage administrators in the coming months.

According to independent metrics firm AppData, Fanrank has grown rapidly to over 265,000 monthly active users (MAU) and a ratio of daily active users (DAU) to MAU averaging 15% over the last 30 days. Fanrank’s DAU/MAU average, a key measure of true fan engagement, is approximately 300-400% greater than tools such as BandPage by RootMusic and Reverb Nation.

Fanrank was founded and is led by Jeff Marois, an INSEAD MBA graduate who previously worked at London-based Last FM and was co-founded by Tuhin Roy, who previously founded or co-founded Echo Networks (acquired by Virgin Entertainment Group, Best Buy and Borders Group), Digital Rights Agency (acquired by Digital Music Group) and First on Mars, an online TV aggregation site.
