Google Panda Update 2.5 Deals Hard Hit To Websites

As the Panda saga continues Google is back with its latest version of their algorithm, Panda version 2.5. This latest update comes just 7 week after the 2.4 release in August and a Google spokesperson confirmed that this iteration of the Panda update is just one of the 500 algorithm changes the company makes each year.

With every Panda update comes the big question of who will be hit the hardest. Google has closely guarded this information after this release and has refused to share any details about what types of sites, pages or content this version targeted.
When asked if any new changes have been introduced in the version 2.5, Google responded by saying that we pushed a fresh version of data that incorporated more of the signals that weve incorporated after the initial launch of Panda.
SearchMetrics has been tracking the impact of the Panda 2.5 update on a number of websites and there is good and bad news. A few noticeable things about this update are:
- Press release distribution sites were hit again. PRNewsire and BusinessWire were the top 2 sites to be impacted
- Ezine Articles and Demand Medias eHow " who were the two biggest Panda victims in the past do not seem to be hit by the latest Panda update
- Surprisingly sites like TheNextWeb and Today.com were hit even though the quality of the content of the site has only increased in the recent past
