Christmas and Holiday photography at company parties are in full swing. Event photography, onsite printing of couples and green screen photography are in high demand this December, so Professional Images Photography offers some valuable advice and tips on hiring a photographer or just instructing the office photo enthusiast that bought the camera from Best Buy to capture more than just a thumb.
Company parties of all sizes need a event photographer to capture the fun and excitement. Taking a photo is easy, taking a great photo is not so easy. Recently Joseph Rodriguez owner of Professional Images Photography took time to give some advice on what to do when looking for a photographer.
When looking online use the keywords Christmas and Holiday photography and you will have more than enough choices to ask for at least 3 bids. Also use the keywordevent photography and more companies appear.
Go to the photography company websites that are being considered and see how long the company has been in business. What type of photography service is offered? If the photographer specializes in convention and corporate photography you are looking in the right area. The reason is simple, convention photographers cover corporate receptions, closing receptions and events.
Visiting the studio or calling the photographer to discuss photography needs helps to determine if it is a good fit. The next step is to ask the photographer for a quick presentation. If the company is out of town ask for samples of work that can be sent by email or PDF that are related to the photography job. Request at least 3 references and actually contact them. You may be surprised what you hear. Ask for a hourly rate and if any travel fee is charged if you are out of town. Ask if there is a minimum of hours charged. Get a rate for the DVD of images taken at the party and if needed a per print rate photos that can be printed onsite. Also ask if a setup fee will be charged for studio lighting and background if one is needed. Does the photography company offer online viewing to purchase prints and Christmas Cards?
Event photography is a skilled and often overlooked profession but when a professional photographer is hired the difference can be seen in the final results. In closing, if the employee who bought the camera at Target wants to cover the event the best advice for the amateur is to shoot non-stop and hope for the best.
