Find Out How The Registered Non-Profit Organization PALAS Managed a Staggering 721% Increase In Donations This Year:

Yes ! Those are the numbers recorded by PALAS (Peace and Love Academic Scholarship) as they head to their 2nd only annual scholarship awards presentation this August 25, 2012. at XLCR High School in Kingston (JA) ; with Hon. Minister Phillip Paulwell as keynote presenter. A total of 42 scholarships will be presented this fiscal year, which is a remarkable 325% increase since it’s inception just last year. How did the board of directors manage such a firestorm and how can you get in on it?

1) IT BEGINS WITH AN OUTPOURING OF PUBLIC COMPASSION IGNITED BY A SENSELESS TRAGEDY

Vanessa Campbell was a bright and beautiful 17 year old young lady violently murdered in Portmore Jamaica Nov. of 2010. Miles away in Atlanta Georgia the founder of PALAS, Rula Brown, (who had just a short while earlier created some jingles for his radio shows with Vanessa on Rula Brown Network) reported to his shocked syndicated audience of the tragedy. The message boards light up with well over 2500 hits on that broadcast alone. And it was this very broadcast that the idea of a commemorative memorial scholarship fund was born. It was a good start too, the Atlanta base non-profit organization awarded thirteen (13) scholarships for the 2011-2012 academic school year.

This year PALAS added two memorial scholarship rewards: the Kavorn Shue Academic Scholarship to honor the memory of Kavorn Shue who met his untimely violent death recently. A college student from the community where he resided will be awarded a scholarship in his name. Additionally, Adrian Dream Alive Scholarship goes to an Engineering student to honor the late, talented, brilliant and delightful young scientist, Adrian Laurence McKreith

2) SHEER GRIT AND DETERMINATION FROM A DEDICATED AND HIGHLY TALENTED INTERNATIONAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS KEEPS THE MOMENTUM GOING

The desire to continue to back Caribbean students with the tools necessary to see their educational goals through became the mainstay of PALAS whose motto became "Preserving Young Minds for Posterity." The stated mission of PALAS is to recognize and honor outstanding academic performances of underprivileged students in the Caribbean. This is not a Caribbean movement alone, this is an international movement. The tight knit Board of Directors are international participants, tele-conferencing together regularly to ensure growth in a positive direction. PALAS is a registered non-profit organization who attracts financial support from various corporate bodies, individuals, groups and fund raising events from near and far, offering tax deductible receipts, complete spending transparence and a business plan upon request..

As the world and technologies bloom both business and individuals alike are networking and interacting globally . Out of this interaction a culture of understanding is emerging, reinforced by the recent global economic crunch, of how entrenched we all have become and that surviving means extending our reach above and beyond our own borders. It is in keeping with that philosophy that the goals for

PALAS’ upcoming efforts are to expand their scholarship programs in the Caribbean region to include Haiti and possibly the Dominican Republic.

We all know that these nations need as much fortification as possible and backing the future of these nations by ensuring educational goals are met is PALAS greatest desire. It is a worthy effort to throw support behind! Much needed and long awaited.

3) PALAS HAS REACH

One of PALAS’ biggest assets is their reach! The Board of Directors were already well established in global networking prior to it’s inception and applied their infrastructures to ensure the word gets out loud and clear. It is this reach that they can extend as a benefit to corporations who sponsor a scholarship. And it is that same reach that they laud all individual contributors with as well. Regardless of the size of contribution this enthusiastic group will shout it out on the mountaintop! Check it out::

  • Two of the board members are syndicated radio personalities, covering the span of four countries: Jamaica, United Kingdom, United States and Canada; in addition to links with world-wide-web internet stations.
  • Combined the Board offers active daily social networking with a reach of over 30,000 unique individuals globally on all major social sites. And the response via hits and shares are healthy.
  • As well, PALAS’ own website, www.PALAS1.org, (though still very young) has well over 19,000 hits .

4) ADDITIONAL REACH: PARTNERING WITH PALAS

A number of organizations have begun to partner with PALAS to help get the word out and to assist with donations etc. Thus far we have had tremendous input from CaribbeanRadioShow w/ Dr Ev (www.Caribbeanradioshow.com), FoundationRadioNetwork w/ Clinton Lindsay (www.ClintonLindsay.com), Syndication1 w/ Gary Bernstein and Donnie McClurkin Radio Show and ZIP-FM in Jamaica, Paramount Entertaintainment w/ Jackie Brown in Atlanta, GA (www.paramountent.ws), Vibes Night Club in Atlanta, Georgia, FuturemovementRadio w/ Pat Baccas (www.futuremovementradio.com) and Jamaica, Farewell the play w/ Debra Ehrhardt.
