The latest blog post from Digital Marketer Managing Editor Josh Loposer is sharing the news about Walmart’s new venture that will deliver artisan foods to paying members’ doorstep.
The Goodie Company is Walmart’s first attempt at an online continuity business, as members will be incentivized to share online reviews of the products, earning points along the way. Loposer said this is probably the most unique and forward-thinking aspect of The Goodie Company.
“Honestly, it’s a pretty good concept — not for Walmart necessarily… But for a company like Whole Foods or Wild Oats, someone who can afford to invest a little in the frontend; it’s a slam dunk,” Loposer wrote. “I gotta say, it’s a weird fit for Walmart. If you wanted to spin it, you could maybe call it innovative?”
The price point of the service, at $7 a month, struck Loposer as familiar, and added another piece of advice to the blog post.
“Along with countless other digital marketers, we’ve been selling $7 reports for over a year now. If you don’t have a $7 frontend product in your funnel, I highly success that you test one,” said the post.
