On February 25, online marketing firm fishbat, Inc. asks during a special premiere episode of fishbatSplash whether social media users would use “Bang With Friends,” a new Facebook app.

According to Bostino, “the app pulls from a user’s pool of synced-in, social media-savvy friends and, with a simple click of a button, allows them to set up sexual encounters. Bang With Friends has capitalized on three words–‘Down to Bang’–and if both parties share that sentiment, they will be alerted to coordinate their tryst.”

In their latest episode, fishbat Splash correspondents Scott Darrohn and Gabrielle Guffreida talk about the features of the new app. “[Bang With Friends] is trying to raise the fun-o-meter,” comments Darrohn.

“Bang With Friends is like your new wing man, or chicken wing if you’re a girl,” comments Guffrieda, fishbat's Community Manager. Guffrieda says that the app uses photos of your friends; by selecting their profiles with the ‘Bang Button,’ the app will notify users anonymously that they were chosen to ‘bang.’

“What surprises me is the app's popularity,” comments Darrohn, fishbat's COO, in reference to the fact that the app currently has over 130,000 likes on Facebook. “There are 30,000 users! That is five users a minute!”

Bostino reports that Boston University Professor Donna Freitas claims “young people today don’t know how to get out of hookup culture. And, of course, apps like Bang With Friends don’t help.”
