According to an article on Marketing Pilgrim, a recent study conducted by Web.com Group Inc. and the National Association of Women Business Owners addresses several questions about how women in business are feeling about the economy, their careers, and their futures. The article reports that nearly half of the women surveyed (44%) specifically cited the role of social media marketing and SEO in their bottom line, stating that they were “the future of business marketing.” When compared to the services offered by a social media agency, traditional marketing techniques – such as direct mail, email, and online advertising – didn’t break the single digits in terms of importance, according to the survey.

However, choosing a particular social network didn’t garner quite as much enthusiasm: “The women were asked which social media network was the most valuable, and LinkedIn came out on top but with only 27% of the vote. Facebook followed with 26%, then YouTube with 18% and Twitter with 17%.”
