On May 3, one of the nation’s leading social media agencies, fishbat, urges baseball fans to attend Island Harvest’s “Home Run to End Hunger” event at Citi Field on May 8 at 5:40 p.m. where the New York Mets will take on the Chicago White Sox.
Island Harvest, Long Island’s largest hunger relief organization, organizes the “Home Run to End Hunger” event each year with the aspiration that baseball fans will come together to celebrate baseball while benefiting a good cause.
According to Clay Darrohn, the CEO and “Big Tuna” of fishbat, one of the nation’s leading social media agencies, all of the proceeds will go to Island Harvest to support its efforts in alleviating some of the hardships experienced by those suffering from hunger on Long Island. “Island Harvest is really dedicated to helping people out and it’s one of the charities we support most here at fishbat,” he says. “However, this event is also about giving people the opportunity to have fun as they help out.”
Fans are highly encouraged to join in the fun, Darrohn explains. “There are going to be a lot of opportunities at this game for baseball fans,” Darrohn says. “When you purchase a ticket for the event, you will get to watch the game in one of the luxury suites overlooking first base. When will you really ever get to do that again? Fans will also get a chance to take a photo with Mr. Met. In past years, former Mets players have even shown up unexpectedly. Island Harvest really does a great job with this event.”
Food and drinks will also be served in the suite during the game. There will be a silent auction during the seventh-inning stretch where Island Harvest will be giving away 25-30 prizes, such as Mets memorabilia, tickets to Long Island Ducks games, and more.
“There’s going to be a lot of fun stuff going on at the event,” Darrohn says. “So why not join us and have a good time while supporting a great cause?”
To purchase tickets for the event, Darrohn says to visit the Island Harvest website.
