Catch the Web Content Management Evolutionary Wave: Failure to Implement May Lead to Web Inefficiencies
Info-Tech Research Group ranks FatWire, OpenText and SiteCore as Champions in a recent Web Content Management (WCM) Vendor Landscape. Vendors that combine traditional WCM with Marketing Tools, such as Customer Relationship Management suites, are changing the game and are now helping marketing departments deliver innovative campaigns.
London, ON (PRWEB) November 23, 2011
A recent Web Content Management (WCM) Vendor Landscape report published by Info-Tech Research Group finds the WCM industry is quickly changing from a stand-alone technology to a platform for e-commerce and marketing solutions. As the market moves towards consolidation of WCM vendors with web analytics and/or Customer Relationship Management, FatWire, OpenText and SiteCore are three vendors on top of the WCM wave of change and are listed as Champions in the report.
“Social media integration and marketing analytics are the new norm in WCM solutions,” said George Goodall, Senior Research Analyst with Info-Tech Research Group. “The complexity of managing this content can be overwhelming. Organizations need to consider implementing a Web Content Management solution with these features sooner rather than later or they risk future web inefficiencies as things continue to evolve. ”
According to the Vendor Landscape report, FatWire has been on top of market changes from the beginning. As a WCM innovator, they were one of the earliest vendors to advocate the use of WCM tools for managing customer experience. FatWire’s solution includes several modules to optimize the client’s Web content and page design with marketing tools. FatWire’s recent efforts to incorporate mobile, location and social inputs illustrates this vendor’s commitment to innovation and helped to place them in the Champion quadrant of the report.
OpenText has also been aggressive in demonstrating innovation in WCM and offers a very broad base of functionality. The OpenText WCM suite offers strong tools for specific WCM use cases including media management, semantic navigation, document publishing and mobile and was listed as a Champion in the report. Its vision of integrated lifecycle management for disparate Web resources is compelling for regulated and litigation-sensitive enterprises.
Sitecore, also a Champion in the report, is seen as a good choice for dedicated Microsoft shops that want to implement marketing automation tools for the first time or to replace existing tools. Sitecore is a leader in terms of cloud deployment options and offers very strong mobile support and workflow capabilities. With a diverse set of marketing tools, Sitecore is not only a .NET tool for developers, but is a solution kit for marketers as well.
Offering the “most bang for your buck”, Joomla! received the highest value index score in the report. Ranked as a Market Pillar, Joomla! is a good choice for small to mid-sized companies that want open-source flexibility & commercial presentation. Their suite is considered easy to install and deploy, making it an ideal solution for SMBs with in-house Web development experience looking for a quick and economical Web presence.
